Find what's using your disk space

Disk Space Map draws a folder or drive as a map sized by how much each part holds, so the largest things stand out.

Choose your home folder, this computer's drive, an external drive or any folder. It counts every file and folder, then shows the map.

  1. Look for the largest areasEvery rectangle is a folder or file, sized by how much it holds. Switch to Sunburst to see three levels at once.
  2. Click into a folderUse the breadcrumbs above the map to come back out.
  3. Check Largest files and By typeLargest files lists the 100 biggest files anywhere under the folder; By type shows how much is photos, video, music and so on.
  4. Show or moveSelect an item to show it in Finder or File Explorer, or move it to the Trash after a confirmation.

System and app folders, your home folder and a drive's top level can't be moved to the Trash from the map.

Folders the system protects are listed at the top if they couldn't be opened; their space isn't counted. On a Mac, giving AMWT Desktop Full Disk Access in System Settings lets it open them.
